About Us
Our mission is to provide college scholarships to orphans and young adults from foster and out-of-home care environments who remain unadopted. As these students age out of the system, either voluntarily or involuntarily at age 18, federal and state governmental support drops precipitously. Our scholarships enable students who possess personal and academic promise to attend the school of their choosing by bridging the gap between tuition, room and board, and related costs and the financial aid provided by the educational institution, government programs, and other sources.
Our founder and Executive Director, Marlon M. Quan, launched the Stewardship Foundation in August 2006. The Foundation is a federally recognized non-profit charitable organization with Section 501(c)(3) status. Since inception, the Foundation has been active in building its endowment, recruiting volunteers, and establishing relationships locally with out-of-home care agencies, college admissions offices, and high school guidance programs. As the Foundation grows, it plans to expand its focus throughout the United States and then internationally.
